The battle for the title of the most interesting company in the world has begun.
Uber vs. Tesla
Uber CEO Travis Kalanick
Tesla CEO Elon Musk
The Battle Is On
I just read a very interesting article, and it talks about how two of the most influential companies in the world are hashing it out for the title of the most interesting company after Uber swept away the title from Tesla due to recent events.
I really enjoyed this article; one of the most intriguing pieces of content I have read in a while. Ride sharing is turning into such a huge market, dominated by Uber. With Tesla being so focused on creating electric cars, especially with their ownership style business model.
Fortunately for Tesla, Elon Musk doesn't give up easily. He quickly came up with a brilliant plan to, at a minimum, have equal market share with Uber in the emerging "de-ownership" business stye that Uber is trying to create. Tesla's response to Uber's attempt to enter this market is the Tesla Network; a simple yet very possible solution so that people can turn their cars from a depreciating asset, to one that actually make them money while they are not using the car.
What Mr. Musk wants to do is, at least to my understanding, is to allow people to rent out their cars ( ideally Tesla's vehicles ) while they are not in use. They would become your own personal taxi that drives around and takes people places while you are at work or otherwise not using the self-driving car.
Tesla and Uber are at war for who can dominate this new market of self driving taxis. They both have innovative ideas, but only one can come out on top.
My money is on Elon Musk and Tesla.
